Health Interventions

Focus

The Rockwool Foundation supports activities promoting enhanced health among children in Denmark.

Motivation

Denmark is now among those countries with the biggest problems in a fast-developing global obesity epidemic. Children and young people are unfortunately among those affected by this growing problem. The result is an increased risk of developing serious lifestyle diseases such as type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, meaning that the consequences for both the individuals concerned and for society at large threaten to be extremely grave. Supporting projects and initiatives which enable children to live healthier lives is therefore prioritised.

Improved health for Danish school children
More and more Danish children live inactive, unhealthy lives. That is why the Rockwool Foundation has taken the initiative to start SundSkoleNettet.dk (The healthy schools network). The aim is to improve the health of children, especially those who experience the biggest challenges in staying fit.
