The work of the ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit is carried out impartially and is based on objective scientific principles.
It is a hallmark of the research that it is always based on significant and relevant challenges to the welfare state.
The goals of the research are to inform and to raise the standard of public debate in Denmark, and to create the best possible basis for political decision-making.
The research is financed primarily by project grants from the Board of the ROCKWOOL Foundation, but the work is carried out and the results disseminated in complete independence from the Board.
The research is frequently conducted in close cooperation with external researchers from the best universities and research institutes in Europe and the United States.
In order to ensure relevance and high academic standards, all projects are considered by a Research Programme Committee before being proposed to the Board. The Research Programme Committee is composed of leading professors at Scandinavian universities.
Our senior personnel are leading researchers from within the focus areas for the Research Unit. All the permanent research staff possess PhD level qualifications within the social sciences.
